New Restaurants To Open In Kansas City's Cosby Hotel
Kansas City's downtown old Cosby Hotel was set to be demolished before redevelopers took it over a few years ago. Now, a deli, pizzeria, and bakery are set to open on the first floor while the upper floors are set for office suites, the Kansas City Star reports.
First to open will be the Milwaukee Delicatessen Co., scheduled to open in mid to late August. The deli will sell sandwiches, entre salads, and pizzas. The pizzas will be sourced from Pizza 51, a pizzeria owned by Jason Pryor. The deli will be open for both lunch and dinner daily.
Jon Gerner is the managing partner of the new deli and has been working to renovate the space. The ceiling will be two stories and expose painted murals and unique molding. The history of the hotel combined with the new plumbing and wiring will give the building the feeling of both old and new.
Sasha's Baking Co. plans to open next door to the deli and pizzeria and will sell European style breads, croissants, sandwiches, pastries, cinnamon rolls, strata, quiche, and cookies. Also on the menu is bottled beers and wines and spirits. The bakery plans to open in late August or early September.
