Hershey's New Gold Bar Looks So Good It Doesn't Need Chocolate
A new Hershey's bar is on its way, and this one will not be made of chocolate. It's OK, though, because the new Hershey's Gold bar looks like a pretty amazing candy bar anyway.
Hershey's recently rolled out a "Flavors of America" series of chocolate bars with ingredients inspired by different states. Now some big Instagram accounts devoted to new snack products and candy news are reporting the upcoming release of a brand new bar called Hershey's Gold Peanuts & Pretzels, which will not actually contain any chocolate at all.
The Junk Food Aisle posted a photo of the new bar.
"Coming soon! Caramelized Creme Hershey's Gold Peanuts & Pretzels!" The Junk Food Aisle announced.
Another Instagram account, Candy Hunting, posted a photo of the same product with a slightly different wrapper design, and said the new bars were due out in December.
The new bar is made of caramelized creme instead of chocolate, and it's filled with pretzels and peanuts. Candy Hunting describes Hershey's new "caramelized creme" base as similar to a Caramac bar in the UK, or Cadbury's Caramilk bars in Australia and New Zealand.
Caramelized creme may not be chocolate, but as the list of the most popular Halloween candies of every decade reveals, candy doesn't have to be chocolate for people to love it. The bar promises a combination of sweet, salty, and crunchy that a lot of people really like. Only the release date and ingredients are known right now, so it looks like we'll all just have to wait until December to find out if it's actually as good as it sounds.
