Mot Hai Ba Opening In Dallas On April 23
A new casual Northern Vietnamese restaurant will be opening Tuesday, April 23 in Dallas' Lakewood neighborhood, at 6047 Lewis St., in the space last occupied by York Street.
Mot Hai Ba will be run by chef/owners Jeana Johnson and Colleen O'Hare, who also run Good 2 Go Taco. It'll feature dishes influenced by the region's street cuisine, along with an all-French wine list and French, Belgian, and Asian beers. The dining room will be dominated by five communal tables that seat 20 and a six-seat bar, and the outdoor patio will seat 20.
Johnson and O'Hare spent some time several years ago traveling in Vietnam by motorcycle, and were particularly struck by the street foods of Hanoi. The menu reflects their interpretation of that cuisine through dishes including pho, five-spice chicken wings, frogs' legs, papaya salad, market crab with chile (pictured), braised oxtail, and green banana with tofu and turmeric. The menu also draws influence from Chinese cuisine and their French background.
