Mellow Mushroom Pizza Featuring Employee-Created Menu

Mellow Mushroom, a national pizzeria chain with over 160 locations, is offering a limited-run menu designed by Mellow Mushroom staff. Originally founded in 1974 by three college students, most of Mellow Mushroom's locations are within college towns in the southeastern US and along the West Coast. More recently, Mellow Mushroom has expanded to more metropolitan areas.

Over 85 recipes were submitted by the restaurant's servers, bartenders, and cooks; then judged on taste, presentation, and originality.

The Homegrown Picks menu is available to curious customers from now until March 31. Menu items include the Quirky Turkey Club Pie, the Chicken Cordon Bleu Calzone, the Thaidal Wave Sweet Thai Chili Chicken Hoagie, and the Slow Ridin' Chicken Salad. Newly designed cocktails include the Blueberry Vodka Mojito, the Pom Pom, and the Cucumber Melon Cooler. 

All seven final items to make it to the menu were judged by a panel of industry professionals: four-time James Beard award-winning food writer Kim Severson, Eater Atlanta editor Sonia Chopra, chef Rory Moon, mixologist Todd Richman, and Home-Grown Industries CEO Richard Brasch.
