Man Sues Eataly Over Glass In Pasta
Finding glass in a McDonald's meal we can totally understand, but at Eataly? A Massachusetts tourist is alleging that he cut himself on glass in a linguine and seafood pasta at Mario Batali's food emporium Eataly.
"There was a lot of blood coming out of my mouth," Fabio DeOliveira told the New York Post, as his attorney pointed out that they paid the $217 bill with a 20 percent tip.
Of course, that's not the whole story. Adam Saper, managing partner at Eataly, told the New York Daily News that the group's meal was caught on video, where the man, his fiancé, and four others ate a meal, closed their check, and left. Saper says DeOliveira returned 20 minutes later with a bloody mouth sans explanation. "We offered medical assistance, but it was refused," Saper says. Something sounds a bit fishy here, but DeOliveira is suing for unspecified damages, claiming his speech and eating have been affected.
