Escaped Mafia Boss Busted At Barbecue
Just because a person is on the run from police doesn't mean he can't enjoy a good steak now and then, but an attempt at a casual outdoor barbecue backfired for a fugitive mafia boss who was spotted by police and immediately re-arrested.
According to the Local, Sicilian mafia boss Concetto Bonaccorsi was originally arrested at his own wedding back in 1991 and charged with murder, drug trafficking, and illegal disposal of bodies. He was reportedly also responsible for starting a mafia war that caused the deaths of more than 100 people.
Last year Bonaccorsi was given a three-day leave from prison, and he took the opportunity to escape. Police have been looking for him for a year, and on Friday, April 14, they were following Bonaccorsi's wife back to an apartment in Tuscany. There, grilling steaks on the balcony like someone who was not supposed to be serving a life sentence for causing the deaths of over 100 people, was Concetto Bonaccorsi.
Bonaccorsi was promptly re-arrested. He will probably not be getting any more days off, or any nice grilled steaks, in the near future.
