Lillie's Q In Chicago Sells Limited Edition Barbecue Sauce
Charlie McKenna of Lillie's Q in Chicago has brought the concept of bourbon barbecue sauce to a whole new level.
For a limited time, Lillie's Q will be featuring a version of the condiment that has been aging in a bourbon barrel for the last six months.
The product, which is made using a base of popular Lillie Q sauce "Smoky," and has been named "Bourbon Barrel Aged Smoky," survived a basement fire that occurred in the restaurant this March, and forced the restaurant to temporarily close down.
Only two hundred bottles of the sauce, will be available for purchase, and rather than being served at the restaurant or sold on their website, interested customers will need to go to Lillie's Q or their kiosk at the Chicago French Market on Friday, June 21st beginning at 11 am to pick up their share, which cannot exceed five-bottles per person.
"If this is real popular, we'll try to do this more often," McKenna told the Chicago Tribune."
