Lemon: NYC, A Culinary Event To Fight Childhood Cancer
Renowned chef Jonathan Waxman, cookbook author and chef/owner of Barbuto restaurant in Manhattan, is hosting a culinary fundraiser in his hometown New York City in an effort to raise money for childhood cancer research. Alex Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is a charity organization working to find cures for childhood cancer, and Waxman has been working closely with the foundation, hosting and participating in fund-raiser events around the country.
For the Lemon: NYC vent, taking place Oct. 8,Waxman will bring culinary talents from around the nation, including April Bloomfield, Vinny Dotolo, Marc Forgione, and Alex Guarnaschelli, to each prepare four-course family style meal's for those attending the event. Lemon: NYC is a collaboration between Waxman and the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund, a public charity affiliated with Toys"R"Us, Inc.
Each table of guests at the event is randomly assigned to one of the participating chefs, who will both cook and serve their special meal, offering the diners an exclusive chance for one-on-one interaction with the celebrated chefs.
In addition to the four-course meal, live and silent auctions will also be held to further raise money for ALSF.
