KISS Members To Open New Restaurant In Kansas City
It's a good time to be KISS co-founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Just a few weeks after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the duo is set to open the sixth location of their Rock and Brews restaurant chain in Overland Park, Kan. on April 29th. On May 29th, the restaurant will host a private dinner for wounded military veterans, as well as a $100 per person gala to benefit the Kansas City VA Medical Center's Adaptive Sports Program.
Rock and Brews originated in El Segundo, Calif. and has since expanded other locations in the Greater Los Angeles area, as well as Mexico and Hawaii. Dishes include Americana classics like barbecue chicken wings, a pastrami Reuben, a wide variety of burgers, and a fully stocked bar, of course. With "Opening Act Appetizers," "VIP Salads," "Headliner Sandwiches," and "Encores" for dessert, the menu is almost enough to remind customers that the restaurant is owned by a rock band.
Gala attendees will arrive on a red carpet and receive two free drinks. They'll also be given the chance to chat with Simmons and Stanley as Kansas City-based tribute band Almost Kiss takes the stage. According to The Kansas City Star, local partner Kirk Williams plans on opening five Rock and Brews in Kansas and Oklahoma over the next five years, with the possibility of five more locations in Missouri and Nebraska.
