José Andrés To Design Culinary Experience At SLS South Beach
The word is out: highly anticipated SLS Hotel South Beach in Miami promises a dynamic gastronomic experience at three distinctive in-house culinary destinations: The Bazaar by José Andrés, Katsuya by Starck and Hyde Beach, the latest iteration of sbe Entertainment Goup's popular Hyde Lounge.
Renowned chef José Andrés has put his "innovative stamp on SLC Hotel South Beach's dining programs," bringing The Bazaar, a "modern piazza" that puts a strong Spanish tradition in conversation with an avant-garde style unique to the chef who is constantly deriving inspiration from the cuisines of the world. The menu explores contrasts like the fare of his homeland "yesterday and today" as well as a playful look at how "Miami meets the world." The tapas and small plates feature interplay between classic Spanish ingredients, fruits, vegetables and the coastal seafood of Miami's environs. The result: staples like Ibérico ham, Ajo Blanco and Rossejat meet an air-bread Cubano, Nigiri, Ceviche, Yucca Churros, Conch Fritters.
The hotel will feature other culinary highlights like Katsuya, an elegant Japanese restaurant featuring the dynamic pairing of Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi and design impresario Philippe Starck, Bar Centro on the back terrace, featuring nitrogen-laced caipirinhas and oversized punch bowls, and super-chic Hyde Beach, the first oceanfront location of sbe's nightlife brand, Hyde Lounge.
