The Hotel Monaco Delivers Upscale Guest Experience
Like anywhere in the hotel business, The Hotel Monaco of Salt Lake City wants to please it's customers. They promise to deliver a sophisticated, upscale, and unique experience for its guests. Unlike every hotel out there, The Monaco delivers. It doesn't matter if you're visiting for skiing, business, or just to sight-see, The Hotel Monaco Salt Lake, really will take good care of you.
In 2012, the hotel underwent a major, $5 million dollar renovation, with a completely new design from Susan Caruso of Intra-Spec Hospitality. The interior of the building is now quite striking, with many patterned elements in bold color choices of bright lipstick red, navy blues, and rich golds. Modern white high backed furniture, mirrors, and other swirling decorative elements balance the more patterned and colorful decor choices. The feel of the place could almost be described as Rococo with a modern touch. "This renovation allows us to enhance our guests' overall experience with an even more warm and welcoming style, that's been updated with a fresh new look," said Marylynn Beck, general manager for Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City. The rooms are now a bit compact but, luxurious, quiet and comfortable.
The hotel offers many fun and appealing amenities: a welcoming wine reception each evening in the main lobby, bikes for touring the city, and a goldfish to keep guests company in their room. The hotel is also very accommodating to travelers with their own pets. The Monaco is very conveniently located in the near center of downtown Salt Lake, within walking distance of terrific restaurants, coffee shops, and bakeries, like Eva's Boulangerie, Bistro 222, and coffee shop Toaster's. The hotel restaurant Bambara is also absolutely stellar and is actually one of the best restaurants in the city.
However, it's the staff at the Monaco that really make the place shine. Gracious, helpful, and kind, staff members from the front desk to the restaurant will work their hardest to meet your every need while visiting. Be sure to take a moment to chat with someone about the best things to see and do in Salt Lake, they will be sure to send you in the right direction.
The Hotel Monaco is actually not a stand alone property but is part of Kimpton Hotel & Restaurants "boutique brands." Each hotel Monaco is part of a chain of properties but, because they are smaller then other well known chains like Hilton or Marriott, are able to offer a more personalized, unique to each city, experience for guests.
Kimpton and the Monaco hotels have been praised by more then just The Daily Meal. U.S. News and World Reports, Business Travel News, Conde Nast Traveler, and many more all have very positive things to say. Chad Smolinski, Vice President of Rankings and Reviews at U.S. News & World Report noted, "Desirable amenities and hotel loyalty programs will no longer suffice. People are seeking hotels that go above and beyond to give their guests an unforgettable experience. Hotels that consistently meet the high expectations of experts and travelers are recognized in our rankings." The Hotel Monaco Salt Lake definitely sets the standard for above and beyond.
