Kim Kardashian And Other Celebrities Who Give Back On Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving isn't just about roasting turkeys, whipping mashed potatoes, and serving smooth pumpkin pie. It's also about giving back and helping others. Many organizations work to provide hot meals on Thanksgiving to those who might otherwise not be able to obtain one. While sometimes it seems like our favorite celebrities live on a different planet than we do, on Thanksgiving everyone comes together to make an effort to help those less fortunate.

Big Sean

This rapper helped give out turkeys at Detroit's River Rouge High School last year. His nonprofit, the Sean Anderson Foundation,  works to help improve the lives of today's youth.

Chris Pine

This celebrity, best known for his leading role in the Star Trek reboot, was a volunteer last year at Los Angeles Mission's annual event. He also supports Children's Defense Fund, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Milk+Bookies.

George Lopez

George Lopez tweeted: "Great day serving Thanksgiving Dinner @TheLAMission," after last year's Los Angeles Mission's Annual Thanksgiving for the Homeless. He was photographed handing out gravy at the event for people's mashed potatoes and turkey.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to giving back. She was also seen handing out food at last year's LA Mission event.  Kim also donates her clothes to raise money for the Dream Foundation, a wish-granting organization for adults suffering illnesses, according to Look to the Stars. She frequently supports charities including The Salvation Army, Race to Erase MS, and Alzheimer's Association.

Kylie Jenner

Kardashian's half-sister Kylie Jenner also gave back at the event last year along with her boyfriend, Tyga. She managed the green bean station; we can't wait to see what she serves this year!

Kevin Bacon

Kevin Bacon, who made his debut in 1984's Footloose, along with his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, was pictured volunteering at the Food Bank for New York City's  Community Kitchen of West Harlem. At the annual event, they help prepare 1,000 meals for high-need communities.

Lil’ Wayne

Lil' Wayne gives out turkeys every year at his annual turkey drive in his hometown of New Orleans. He and his Cash Money Record's group give out around 1,000 turkeys to families who need them.

Ludacris

Ludacris volunteered his time at Utopian Academy for the Arts in Riverdale, Georgia, where he gave out turkeys for his foundation's Giving Season Program. The Ludacris Foundation, which was established in 2001, focuses on education, leadership, community outreach, and living healthy lifestyles.

Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie and Samantha Ronson were photographed unloading boxes of food before serving Thanksgiving lunch at a local shelter in Hollywood. Richie, along with her husband, Joel Madden, started Richie Madden Children's Foundation in support of disadvantaged families.

The Obamas

Last year, President Obama, along with Michelle, their two daughters, and Michelle's mother, all helped feed the hungry in Washington the day before Thanksgiving at Bread for the City's charitable event. The president handed out bags of sweet potatoes, while making friendly conversation with those in line.
