While the world is still waiting to see if Ivanka Trump will act as a rational counterbalance to President Donald Trump's brash political policies (she's currently serving as the "assistant to the president"), it's clear that their eating and exercise habits will never align. Pictures, tweets, and interviews have confirmed Donald Trump's love of fast food, Diet Coke, and Oreos, and this eating routine has made him borderline obese, according to his latest physical examination. Ivanka, on the other hand, follows a much stricter diet and exercise routine to maintain her elegant figure.

Here are Ivanka Trump's secrets to staying in shape.

Cardio

Ivanka Trump doesn't keep her toned physique from diet alone. Cardiovascular exercise, particularly cycling (she's an avid proponent of SoulCycle) makes up the foundation of Ivanka Trump's workout routine.

Complex Carbs

Ivanka admits that, prior to having children, she would "eat like a teenager," consuming traditional junk food like hamburgers, pizza, and pasta. Now she avoids almost all processed carbohydrates and follows a low-carb diet focused on only whole grains and oats.

Freezer

There aren't any frozen meals on Ivanka Trump's dinner table (although these healthy frozen meals might make the cut), but she's not against using the freezer. Frozen berries and vegetables are convenient ingredients to have on hand. They can easily be added to smoothies, or used as a side dish. Frozen edamame, spinach, corn, and mustard greens are particularly simple to heat up and prepare.

Lean Proteins

Smart protein choices are the foundation of any successful diet. Ivanka Trump focuses on lean proteins like chicken, eggs, salmon, and low-fat Greek yogurt, which she tops with chia seeds, berries, and nuts.

No Crash Diet

Don't starve yourself with juice cleanses or cabbage-soup detoxes. Ivanka Trump said that her experience with a day-long green juice cleanse didn't end well, and that she has since sworn off extreme crash dieting.

Smart Shopping

For Ivanka Trump, a healthy diet starts in the grocery store. She avoids the inner aisles, which house the heavily processed foods like cookies, sugary cereal, and chips, and focuses her attention on the fresh, wholesome ingredients on the outer aisles. Her advice: Stick to the perimeters when you do your grocery shopping.

Yoga

When she's not breaking a sweat on the bike, Ivanka Trump is toning up in the yoga studio. Her personal trainer, Rhonda Malkin, a former Rockettes dancer, introduced her to a "fusion workout" — a combination of yoga, Pilates, dance, and meditation that exercises the body as well as the mind.
