Healthier Concessions In Kansas City
Guests attending Theater in the Park in Kansas City now have healthier options available at the concession stand, KMBC reports. In addition to the standard concession treats (popcorn, hot dogs, and nachos) the menu shows calorie counts.
Additions to the menu include a turkey or roast beef sandwich on multi-grain bread, a jalapeno chicken wrap, and a cheese, lettuce, and tomato wrap for vegetarians.
The change in menu is thanks to the Johnson County Parks and Recreation and the Johnson County Health and Environment Department. The organizations are working to include healthier options at local events for guests.
Hopefully the change in concessions will be beneficial for the theater in the Park Program, which is the largest outdoor community theatre in the country. Each summer the theater presents musicals and hosts special events.
The theater began the season last weekend with "Children of Eden." For ticket information, visit the theater's website.
