Guy Fieri Films 'DD&D' At New York's Queens Comfort
There were rumors swirling yesterday that Guy Fieri, host of Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, had been spotted in Astoria, Queens. A few mentioned that they saw him at quirky comfort food hub Queens Comfort, and today the restaurant confirmed the visit via an Instagram photo of the owner with Fieri.
The self-described "punk rock, folk, Americana, soul food" restaurant has gained quite a cult following, in no small part to its delicious, unabashedly unhealthy menu of items like Cap'n Crunch chicken fingers, chicken and waffles, Thanksgiving po'boys, fried chicken, and a burger topped with pecan praline bacon, honey, blue cheese, mayo, and powdered sugar. In short, it's definitely up Fieri's alley.
Fieri hasn't filmed in New York too often, usually favoring restaurants in more rural locales, but he's featured New York restaurants including Sidecar, The Redhead, Mama's Food Shop, and John's of 12th Street. He was also spotted on Thursday with The Meatball Shop gang, but a rep from the restaurant told us that he just dropped by to say hello and had no plans to film there.
