Ingredients: 12 apples peeled & cored; 1/2 cup cider vinegar; 4 cup apple cider; 3 cloves; 1 cinnamon stick; 1 bay leaf; 1 tablespoon salt; 2 serrano peppers

The fall is best time of year to buy pears. They are juicy and succulent, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity bosc pears which have a crunchy texture and a sweet and spicy flavor profile. Not to mention are perfect for my savory poached pear recipe.

Ingredients

12 apples peeled & cored
1/2 cup cider vinegar
4 cup apple cider
3 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
1 tablespoon salt
2 serrano peppers

Directions

Bring all the ingredients to a simmer and cook 30 minutes.
Remove cinnamon stick and by leaf and pass through a food mill.
