Exclusive Speakeasy To Open In D.C.
Washington D.C.'s bar scene just got a little more exclusive.
On July 1st, a new speakeasy called La Fée Verte will open on the roof of MOVA Lounge.
The venue will offer more than half a dozen varieties of absinthe, as well as farm-to-table snacks, but only to the select few who manage to get in. In order to get a reservation, guests will have to text a secret number, which will be spread by word of mouth. Only then will they get the chance to reserve a space at one of the three seating offered every Wednesday through Saturday night.
"Once on the very limited guest list," begins the press release, "patrons will enter La Fée Verte by ascending through the curtained stairs of MOVA, where they will be transported to an emerald embodied world of live green grass walls; a forest of leafy plants, stylish cushy furniture, signature glass and serviceware and personal service."
"Instead of being overcrowded like a lot of bars here in D.C. we wanted to be more of an experience," MOVA manager Rolando Ravelo told Young&Hungry.
Speakeasies are not a new concept, but with a mix of exclusivity and absinthe, we're curious to see how this new establishment will fare in the D.C. bar scene.
