This Boy's Mrs. Doubtfire Party Was Way Cooler Than Your Fourth Birthday
Four-year-old Evan Kowalski may not have even been a glimmer in his mom's eye when Mrs. Doubtfire was released in 1993, but that hasn't stopped him from being an avid fan of the Robin Williams movie. Little Evan loves Mrs. Doubtfire so much that his recent birthday party was actually themed on the cult classic film.
The resulting party is chock-full of beloved references that likely flew over many of his friends' heads. There were fruit kabobs for a run-by fruiting, gift bags with a custom Mrs. Doubtfire caricature and quote, and an epic birthday cake, which features endless movie references and what just may be the movie's most famous line.
It should come as no surprise that Evan's love of Mrs. Doubtfire comes from his mom, Laura, who had to enlist her artist cousin to draw up the movie-themed party details. Apparently, Etsy and Pinterest are totally devoid of Mrs. Doubtfire party décor.
"I started showing him some of my favorite childhood classics and found that he enjoyed them, so about six months ago, I showed him Mrs. Doubtfire and he loved it. I didn't think it would be enough to make him want a Mrs. Doubtfire–themed party, but apparently he did," Laura said in an interview with BuzzFeed.
Is this better than the little girl who had a Costco-themed birthday party? It just might be.
