Anthony Bourdain Will Be Remembered In New Memorial Book
Anthony Bourdain died in June 2018, but his effect on the food world still reverberates. Now the late chef and television host will be honored with a memorial book, "Anthony Bourdain Remembered," which will be published in May by Ecco, an imprint of publisher HarperCollins. And the book was originally meant for a special audience of one — Bourdain's young daughter, Ariane.

"Anthony Bourdain's passing was a huge loss to us all, and there isn't a day that goes by when we don't miss his singular presence," Daniel Halpern, Ecco president and publisher, said in a statement. "(The book) reminds me of the joy that he brought to everyone who knew him or watched him on air as he moved in his particular way around the globe."
Halpern describes the new book as "the perfect memento for those of us who, through his shows, came to know the others who inhabit our planet — and an homage to the world's most beloved traveler."
The book, he says, was originally printed in a limited edition by CNN, the network that employed Bourdain, and meant as a keepsake for his daughter. Now, however, Halpern says, "the estate has agreed to share this book with (Bourdain's) many friends and fans."
And many of those friends and fans are famous. "Anthony Bourdain Remembered" will share thoughts about the late chef from those he inspired, including former President Barack Obama, Bourdain's friend chef Eric Ripert, filmmaker Ken Burns, musician Questlove and more.
The 208-page book will be published on May 28. Amazon is listing it at $22.48. It's just the latest proof of how Bourdain forever changed the food world.
