Viceroy Palm Springs Reopens As Avalon Hotel With A New Restaurant And Spa Services
The Viceroy Palm Springs has changed brands and is now the Avalon Hotel. In addition to a new name, the 67-room boutique hotel has revamped their spa services and completely re-imagined the on-site restaurant.
The hotel has partnered with American Medicinal Arts, a company dedicated to holistic healing, to re-invent the on-site Estrella spa. The new spa treatments use only handmade medicinal herb-infused oils and butters. The plant-based ingredients include sweet orange, black raspberry, grapefruit, cardamom, eucalyptus, and prickly pear oil. Herbal infused butter products contain jojoba, avocado, coconut, and shea oil and butter.
The new Chi Chi restaurant serves healthy dishes with a Latin flare. The outdoor eatery is Tara Lazar's fourth Palm Springs dining concept and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. Guests can enjoy shared plates such as zucchini and goat cheese croquettas; beef empanadas; a kale, quinoa, cherry, and fennel salad; pork belly, octopus, chorizo, and jidori chicken skewers; banana leaf steamed salmon; and roasted pork with blue corn tortillas.
The cocktail menu also utilizes innovative ingredients with drinks including the spicy Peruvian with pisco, agave, lime, and serrano peppers; the Ververde with reposado, apple juice, agave, and lime; and the Desert Jewel with Mandarin vodka, Aperol, and grapefruit juice. The wine list also includes diverse reds and whites from Spain, Argentina, Italy, and California.
Desserts are both traditional and playful including Mexican wedding cookies, espresso granite, coconut cake with raspberries, and an assortment of fruit-based popsicles.
