Tom Colicchio Will Get Roasted By Padma Lakshmi And Friends
On October 26, imposing Top Chef judge and New York City restaurateur Tom Colicchio will have the tables turned on him during a roast of the chef, by Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi and Top Chef All-Star Richard Blais.
Hosted by MSNBC's Alex Wagner, Tom's roast will include, of course, food from friends of Chef Action Network, the non-profit that connects chefs with the causes that are most important to them, and Food Policy Action, the organization cofounded by Colicchio that shows how state representatives vote on food issues. Proceeds from the evening will benefit these two institutions, whose collaborative goal is to promote better food access through education and advocacy, and a more sustainable future of food production and consumption.
Participating chefs, who will feed you as Tom is getting roasted, will include celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn (Béarnaise), Sam Talbot (The Surf Lodge), Erik Bruner-Yang (Toki Underground), American Grilled host David Guas, and Robb Duncan (Dolcezza).
This year's Chef's Roast will culminate with an Advocacy Day on October 27, where more than 50 chefs from 37 states will have the opportunity to spend the day at the White House and on Capitol hill discussing the national food and nutrition policy.
