Starbucks Robbery Suspect To Sue Man Who Disarmed Him
The man who subdued a robbery suspect at a Northern California Starbucks may be getting sued by the very suspect whose plans he foiled.
Ryan Flores, 30, is facing second-degree robbery and assault with a deadly weapon charges for the alleged attempted robbery of a Fresno Starbucks. But according to his mother, Pamela Chimienti, Flores plans to file a lawsuit against 58-year-old Cregg Jerri, who Chimienti told SF Gate, used "excessive force" against her son in the course of thwarting the robbery.
Flores, clad in a Transformers mask and armed with a fake gun and a knife, was taken down by Jerri, who attempted to disarm Flores by hitting him over the head with a chair. The San Francisco publication reports that the two then tussled over Flores' knife. Both men sustained injuries in the process, but both survived their wounds; Jerri was stabbed once in the neck, while Flores suffered 17 stab wounds.
Flores is currently in Fresno County Jail awaiting sentencing.
