Restaurant Employee Arrested For Recording Women In The Bathroom
Edward Ramirez, a 43-year-old resident of Glen Cove, Long Island, has been arrested for attempting to record a video of a female customer while she was using the restroom.
The customer, a 27-year-old woman, told Nassau County police that she was in the bathroom of Jack's Shack Organic Eatery on Glen Cove Avenue when she saw a cellphone taped under the sink, pointed in her direction and actively recording.
The woman called the authorities, who arrested Ramirez and charged him with attempted unlawful surveillance.
In December, Ramirez was charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child after he allegedly exposed himself to children at a grocery store, where he was a clerk at the time.
It's not the first time — this year, even — that restaurant employees revealed themselves to be peeping Toms.
A comedian who visited a bar in Illinois was shocked to discover that the women's restroom of Cigars and Stripes BBQ, Bar & Lounge was outfitted with a two-way mirror. Days later, the manager of a pizza shop went on the run after his wife discovered video footage of the restaurant's female employees on his computer.
