Oktoberfest Is Alive And Well At Loreley Restaurant & Biergarten's Twelfth-Annual Celebration
September brings Germany's famed Oktoberfest, a 17-day festival of beer and brats that kicks off on September 19 this year. Loreley Restaurant & Biergarten on New York City's Lower East Side will kick off its twelfth-annual Oktoberfest celebration with an Oktoberfest party on Saturday September 19, complete with free beer, a pig roast, and German music. Loreley will also offer beer specials from September 19 through October 4 and host an Oktoberfest Closing Party with more free beer.
At 3 p.m. on Saturday September 19, a keg of Hofbrau Oktoberfest (brewed in the official home of Oktoberfest: Munich, Germany) will be tapped and guests will receive a free pour from the keg until it runs out. Loreley will also host a pig roast that afternoon and invite guests to sample free tastes of the pig. Attendees can party into the night drinking and dancing to traditional Oktoberfest music — lederhosen and drindls encouraged.
Throughout Oktoberfest, from September 19 to October 4, Loreley will feature a different Oktoberfest beer each day at a special price: $1 off half-liter pours and a $2 discount off liters. Oktoberfest beers on tap will include Hofbräu Oktoberfest, Weihenstephan Oktoberfest, Spaten Oktoberfest, and Schneider Wiesen Edel-Weisse. These brews can be paired with Loreley's new dishes like the Sausage Party: a shareable platter of seven different kinds of sausages on a bed of beer-marinated sauerkraut with bacon, and bratwurst tacos with onion, cilantro, and a spicy guacamole sauce.
Festivities conclude with an Oktoberfest closing party on Sunday, October 4 featuring the tapping of another free keg of beer. The team at Loreley is keeping the brew of this closing keg a secret, so you'll just have to attend to find out what they'll be pouring.
