NYLO New York City Celebrates Art With Silent Cinema Series
New York City is constantly buzzing with art, music, and culture. This week in the Upper West Side, the NYLO New York City Hotel is celebrating all things art with the launch of Arthouse @ NYLO.
Silent Cinema is the first offering from the initiative. NYLO will screen an art-centric movie every Wednesday, rotating through new films each month. The film lineup includes Factory Girl, Girl With a Pearl Earring, Frida, 8 ½, Monuments Men, and Exit Through the Gift Shop.
The Silent Cinema series is presented in partnership with Sound Off, a wireless headphone technology company, which will allow guests to sit back and enjoy the films while cutting out the excess background noise of the hustle and bustle of New York City.
In addition to watching the movies, guests will also be able to enjoy specialty cocktails inspired by each film and created by NYLO's cocktail experts.
This month, Factory Girl screenings are accompanied by two special cocktails — The Muse and It Girl, created by award-winning bartender Cody Goldstein and cocktail expert Earlecia Richelle, respectively. The Muse is made from Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin, St. Germain, grapefruit, orange, and cinnamon. The It Girl resembles a cola daiquiri, with Bacardi Ocho, cola cordial, lime, and cherry bitters served in glass Coke bottles.
