Missing Engagement Ring Found 13 Years Later Wrapped Around A Carrot
In 2004, Mary Grams lost her engagement ring picking weeds in her garden in Armena, Alberta. After a few weeks of searching without results, she purchased a replacement, hoping her husband wouldn't notice. "I don't want to brag, but I'm usually pretty good at finding things," Grams told Global News. "But not this time. No lucky this time, boy."
Now, almost 13 years later, Grams, 84, has reunited with her ring. Her son's wife found it in the same garden after spotting a particularly sparkly carrot. Upon realizing what it was and whom it belonged to, the couple phoned Grams to tell her the news. At first, she thought they were joking because they couldn't stop laughing, but when her granddaughter delivered the carrot (and the carat) to Grams' home, she immediately recognized it was her missing ring.
Yesterday Mary's family called her and told her they'd found her long lost ring, in a carrot they pulled for dinner at the family farm. #yeg pic.twitter.com/I7SEnl49T0

Photos of the miraculous discovery have been shared on Twitter thousands of times.
"Anything I do outside, I'm going to take it off and it's going to stay," Grams told Global News. "I should've put it in a safe place in the first place, but I didn't."
Grams' husband died five years ago, but she says if he were around today, he'd laugh about this too. Here are more inspiring food stories of 2017.
