Michael Mina's Petit Margeaux To Debut In Chicago Thursday
The first (and smaller) of Michael Mina's two Chicago restaurants will open its doors Thursday.
Petit Margeaux, an all-day cafe serving pastries, sandwiches, salads and sweets, will be located on the lobby level of the Waldorf Astoria (11 E. Walton St.). Decor will be in pistachio-green and off-white tones, highlighted by an oak-and-white-marble bar. There are 46 indoor seats and 44 outdoor. Sipping wine and noshing on tartines in the hotel's secluded, European-style courtyard might be one of this summer's most pleasant diversions.
Counter-service, grab-and-go items include pain au chocolate, bagged granola and brioche buns at breakfast, and salads, sandwiches (including a ratatouille tartine) and a quiche-of-the-day at lunch and dinner.
