London's Bocconcino Pizzeria Is Open For Breakfast
Morning types who frequent the Mayfair's posh Berkeley Square can now enjoy an Italian-inspired menu from 8 to 11 a.m. on weekdays, as Bocconcino is now open for breakfast. Bocconcino is a decidedly upmarket pizzeria known for its authentic wood-fired pies and pastas, and has recently expanded their hours (and menu) for your mid-morning refuel.
Diners with light appetites can sample continental classics such as fruit salads and morning pastries, including pain au chocolat and croissants. For the peckish, there's poached eggs on sourdough bread topped with a choice of Parma ham and spinach or smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce. The eatery's specialty item is the uovo affogato al sugo — a dish of braised eggs with Taleggio cheese in a tomato and pepper sauce.
Bocconcino's breakfast comes with a full line-up of teas and Italy-sourced coffees, and the bar swaps its spirits for freshly squeezed juices including apple, tomato, and carrot-orange varieties.
