What's The KFC Gravy Recipe?
Kentucky Fried Chicken's gravy is one of the hallmarks of fast food. No trip to KFC is complete without it. While it's traditionally served on top of their (equally famous) mashed potatoes, you can order it on any sandwich or other menu item and can even get a side of it straight. But why spend the cash at KFC when you can make it at home just as easily, and for less money? There are several recipes available online, but the one below, which we found on Copycat Recipe Guide, is our favorite.
To make your own KFC gravy, start by dissolving a beef bouillon cube in two cups of boiling water. Once that's ready, in a separate pot, melt four tablespoons of butter and slowly incorporate five tablespoons of flour into it over low heat to create a roux. Cook the roux until it turns lightly golden, then slowly pour in the bouillon water, turn the heat up to medium, and stir until smooth and creamy. Then add in a quarter teaspoon each of black pepper, garlic powder, and sage and you'll have gravy just like at KFC, if not better!
