Inside The Food Of Outside Lands Slideshow

This iconic New England dish was a must-have. Woodhouse Fish Co. served clam chowder, bread bowl optional (but necessary).

Del Popolo

There was never a time when the line wasn't at least this long for Del Popolo's meat, white, or margherita pizzas.

Shawarma Snow Cone

San Francisco restaurant Straw served up shawarma or falafel wraps in the shape of snow cones.

Noelle Scaggs of Fitz and the Tantrums

Scaggs loves to cook, and often shares her dishes on Instagram. At home, her specialties are wasabi potato salad and homemade Snickers. Does she cook for the guys on tour? "Hell no," she says. And about her recent trip to France, she says, "If you're not talking about food, you're talking about sex."

Wine Lands

Wineries such as Kermit Lynch and Turley Wine Cellars offered tastings or full glasses to Outside Lands patrons. On tasting wine, Abe Schoener, winemaker for The Scholium Project says, "Its all about pleasure. If the wine doesnt have the ability to cause pleasure immediately upon consumption, theres very little you can say to change that."

Free Flow Wines

This Sonoma winery poured a variety of wines on tap.

Rosamunde Sausage Grill

This classic Bay Area restaurant (soon to open a Brooklyn, N.Y. outpost!) grilled sausages, and satisfied vegetarians as well with their vegan apple-sage sausage.

Woodhouse Fish Co.

Oysters grilled fresh behind the counter were served by Woodhouse Fish Co. adjacent to Wine Lands.

Passion Pit

Passion Pit played the sold-out festival Saturday evening.

Homeroom

Homeroom was serving mac and cheese with the punch of the San Francisco favorite, Gilroy garlic. Three words: Oh. My. God.

Choco Lands

Choco Lands had a variety of dessert booths to choose from when festival-goers needed to satisfy their sweet tooth (or munchies craving).

Fun.

The New York City-based band got the energy up early Sunday.

Bun Mee Vietnamese Sandwich Eatery

Members of the Brooklyn-based band Caveman were big fans of the pork banh mis on offer.

Mission Minis

This cupcake shop served flavors such as Ruby Red Velvet, Double Chocolate, Meyer Lemon Cream, and Cinnamon Horchata.

Caveman

Brooklyn-based band Caveman loves to eat. Even more, they love to drink. For drummer Stefan Marolachakis, it's soda water. "No high-fructose corn syrup for me and my dudes straight bubbles," he said. Be sure to try their signature cocktail, The Cavehound: tequila, grapefruit juice, soda water, and a splash of Campari, garnished with a lime. What'd they eat at Outside Lands? "We already hit Choco Lands twice," lead singer Matt Iwanusa confessed.

Tacolicious

Its not San Francisco without some Mexican food. Tacolicious made carnitas, beef short rib, chicken, and veggie tacos.

Straw

There really aren't any words to describe how good the sweet potato tater tots with blackberry BBQ sauce were. (Full disclosure: my friend poured the leftover BBQ sauce on her shawarma snow cone because it was that good.)

Regina Spektor

Regina Spektor performed Sunday afternoon on the Lands End stage.

The Whole Beast

John Fink of The Whole Beast butchers one of the 25 lambs he purchased for the weekend. Various parts of the lamb went into Outside Lambs' most popular dish, the lamb gyro. The Whole Beast uses all free-range, grass-fed meat. Fink explains, "Before I buy any meat, I take a walk in their footsteps."

Tito’s Handmade Vodka

Austin, Texas-based Titos Handmade Vodka was mixing a variety of cocktails over the weekend.

Philz Coffee

Lord knows festival-goers needed some coffee, more and more as the days went on, especially at night. Who knew California could be so cold?

Sigur Rós

Sigur Rs performed Saturday night as the mist got heavy to the point where it could have been called light rain. I can try to keep my inner fan girl quiet, but, it was perfect.

Sierra Nevada

Chico, Calif.-based brewery Sierra Nevada crafted the saison exclusively for Outside Lands.

4505 Meats

Local meat purveyors, 4505 Meats, served a cheeseburger made of grass-fed beef, iceberg lettuce, onion, Cheddar cheese, and their signature "Shh" sauce on a homemade sesame seed bun.

Stevie Wonder

The legend that is Stevie Wonder finished off the weekend Sunday night to a very packed Polo Field.
