As If Brunch Weren't Fabulous Enough, Now There Are Prosecco Doughnuts
If you've ever enjoyed a glass of prosecco at brunch and thought "This might pair really well with a nice doughnut," your fantasy has come true. There is now such thing as a prosecco doughnut. As if cronuts and spaghetti doughnuts weren't enough, here is a creation that will upgrade your Instagram game, seduce your sweet tooth, and turn brunch extra-bubbly.
The Doughnut Project — the bakery that created the everything bagel doughnut — is behind these treats. The Manhattan bakery collaborated with Ruffino Prosecco from Italy for National Prosecco Day (August 13 — mark your calendars!) to make these special circular treats.
"For the past two years we have been perfecting our recipes, craft and vision," say Leslie Polizzotto and Troy Neal, co-owners of The Doughnut Project. "We are very excited to partner with Ruffino to create the Prosecco Doughnut for National Prosecco Day."
Since prosecco is typically busted out for fabulous occasions such as celebrations and festive weekend brunches, The Doughnut Project is keeping the doughnuts on-theme with ornate sprinkles and gold leaf — in case, you know, the prosecco glaze itself wasn't glamorous enough.
The prosecco donut is only available through August 14-20, exclusively at The Doughnut Project. Get them and Instagram them while you can.
