Chick-Fil-A Manager Sends Boat To Save Elderly Couple From Houston Floodwaters
The first few days of Hurricane Harvey weren't bad for J.C. and Karen Spencer, but on Monday, Aug. 28, floodwater began to fill their Houston home. They knew they needed to evacuate, so J.C. picked up the phone and called a local Chick-fil-A, where he and his wife are regulars. J.C. placed an order for two grilled chicken burritos with extra egg — and a boat. The manager in turn called her husband, who brought his boat to the Spencers' home.
According to ABC News, there wasn't room on the boat for both the Spencers and their most valued possessions, but a couple of men on Jet Skis arrived to help. Karen hopped on one and J.C. hopped on the other, leaving room for more of their things in the boat.

And after all that, J.C. made the trek back to his flooded home the next day to retrieve his wallet and wedding ring, which he'd forgotten to bring along. He told ABC News, "I couldn't save my house, but I have to save my marriage."
The grateful couple is hoping to locate their mystery Jet Ski heroes in order to express a proper thank you. For more of 2017's most inspiring stories, click here.
