Atlanta's Foxeria Del Sol Celebrates Spice This Sunday
Next Sunday, August 20, from 4 to 8 p.m., the 2017 Foxeria del Sol Hatch Chile Festival will celebrate spice and, more specifically, the annual arrival of Hatch chiles from New Mexico. Atlanta restaurants Taqueria del Sol and Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q will host Charleston's Home Team BBQ to offer a wide spread of food and local beer that attendees can enjoy while listening to live music. The festival will take place at Taqueria's West Midtown location, and all proceeds will benefit Hogs for the Cause, a nonprofit organization that funds pediatric brain cancer outreach services.
The festival highlights the Hatch chile flavor with a range of savory and sweet dishes using the culinary profiles of the three host restaurants. Atlanta legend Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q is known for a "Sweet with Heat" sauce and tender brisket and ribs. Taqueria del Sol, by contrast, is a taco destination for locals, known for wide array of fresh and affordable delectable tacos. In tandem with Home Team BBQ, these Atlanta restaurant staples will showcase mouthwatering flavors accentuated with Hatch chile spice.
The savory menu includes a Whole Hog Po'boy including Hatch slaw and vinegar hot sauce, as well as a Hatch Chile Hot Chicken with Doux South sweet pickles. The sweet menu will include a Hatch chile chocolate peanut butter cup, guaranteed to bring unique flavor and a spicy kick.
Chase the Sunday scaries away with plates from several food stations and a cerveza.
