This Adorable Toddler Requested A Target Birthday Party And Her Mom Delivered (With Pizza Hut!)
Like most people, Emily Kern's daughter loves to shop at Target. So when 3-year-old Charlie asked for a Target-themed birthday party, her mom delivered.
"I honestly don't know a specific time that she began to really love Target, but I think our many trips when she was a baby were to blame," Kern told Today Parents, explaining that Charlie was born prematurely at 28 weeks gestation.
After spending months in the hospital, their family returned home. But it was November and too cold to go for walks outside. To avoid going "stir crazy," Kern brought Charlie to a Target near their Pennsylvania residence.
"When I started asking Charlie what type of party she wanted, she said Target," Kern continued. "I laughed and said, 'That's not a party, what about Trolls?'"
But nothing would deter Charlie from getting what she truly wanted. So Kern and her husband, Jonathan, decorated their house and yard with bullseyes, red shirts, and a Dollar Spot — plastic bins filled with party favors for Charlie's guests (to go inside authentic Target shopping bags supplied by their local store).
A faux Target café served Pizza Hut, hot dogs, and popcorn. And for dessert, mom gave out red and white pretzel sticks and cupcakes, and a homemade bullseye birthday cake.
"Overall, the party turned out great, and Charlie had a great time," Kern told Today Parents. "She just genuinely loves Target, like all the other Target-lovers."
