#10 AriZona Kiwi Strawberry Juice Drink
Sure, kiwi strawberry is a fun combination of summery flavors, but instead of going for something store-brought, try your own version at home with fresh fruit. The AriZona version has 110 calories and 25 grams of sugar per eight-ounce serving, but if you make your own with fresh fruit such as eight large strawberries, 8 slices of kiwi, and one lemon, sliced, you can get the same tropical punch for just 43 calories per serving.
#9 Vitamin Water
How can vitamins be bad, right? It's right there in the name, vitamin — and it's water! Think again, as these flavored "health" beverages have an average of 13.2 grams of sugar per eight-ounce serving and 48 calories. Keep in mind, there are 2.5 servings in each bottle so if you grab one to sip, you'll be taking in 120 calories and 33 grams of sugar in one sitting. That's almost as much sugar as a can of Coke!
#8 McDonalds Sweet Iced Tea
Sweet tea can certainly be hard to resist, but one eight-ounce cup of McDonalds's sweet tea packs 75 calories and 18 grams of sugar. That's just for a small sweet tea. McDonalds also offers a large size, which has 220 calories and 54 grams of sugar. Talk about a sugar rush.
#7 Dunkin' Donuts Dunkaccino
The Dunkaccino is the perfect combination of a hot chocolate and cappuccino, but 10 ounces of this drink has 25 grams of sugar and 230 calories. Pass on that and go for an unsweetened latte instead. You'll be able to get your coffee fix in for 120 calories and only 10 grams of sugar instead of 25.
#6 Starbucks Chai Tea Latte
Chai tea can be great for relaxing on a cold day, but try opting for something less sweet if you're watching your sugar intake. This chai has more sugar than a Snickers bar, clocking in at 21 grams for an eight-ounce cup, plus 120 calories that, let's be honest, could be better spent on a tasty snack.
#5 Rockstar Energy Drink
We've all had the urge to bump up the caffeine levels when the 2:00 p.m. slump hits or you just need the extra energy, but an eight-ounce Rockstar Energy Drink will set you back 140 calories and a whopping 31 grams of sugar. You'll need all the energy you get from the caffeine just to work it off.
#4 Tropicana Fruit Fury Twister
When you think Tropicana, you may not think of high calorie content and lots of sugar, but the Fruit Fury Twister actually has 140 calories per serving. Even worse, a serving has 24 grams of sugar. And all three of the bottle sizes (10, 20, and 96) are packing 2.5 servings so you'll get more than double the diet crash.
#3 Starbucks Eggnog Latte
When the holiday excitement revs up, you may want to grab an eggnog latte to get in the spirit of the season. However, keep in mind that a short eight-ounce eggnog latte has 230 calories and 24 grams of sugar.
#2 Jamba Juice Mega Mango Smoothie
Smoothies are those hidden calorie-killers no one ever remembers. They are chock full of fruit so how can they be bad? Well, an eight-ounce serving of the Mega Mango smoothie from Jamba Juice has 115 calories and 26 grams of sugar. Most serving sizes are 16 ounces, so you could be consuming 52 grams of sugar in one drink.
#1 Chick-Fil-A Lemonade
Chick-Fil-A is known for sweeter-than-sweet tea and so you may choose lemonade as a "healthier" option. But know this: a nine-ounce serving of lemonade has 170 calories and 43 grams of sugar. That's just for a size small.
