Diet Coke Finally Makes A Slurpee For 7-Eleven
Diet coke is the second best-selling beverage in the U.S. and today it makes its debut in frozen form. Cherry Diet Coke Frost will be available at 7-Eleven slurpee machines starting today for the first time in the brand's history. The low-cal frozen beverage will have just 30 calories and 12 carbs per serving.
"Partnering with 7-Eleven for the debut of Diet Coke FROST brings this innovation to people nationwide in a setting famous for delivering frozen perfection," said Stuart Kronauge, General Manager, Sparkling Beverages, Coca-Cola North America in a statement.
7-Eleven had previously tried some frozen diet beverages including a Diet Pepsi Slurpee but according to USA Today, the idea never quite caught on because the low-cal taste and fake sugar didn't blend well enough into a drink that customers would actually want to slurp.
The drink will be sold exclusively at 7-Eleven for the time being, but will roll out to other convenience stores in May. Diet Coke and Slurpee fans will be able to download a coupon for a free Diet Coke Frost from the 7-Eleven app.
