Delicious Opportunities To Say Namaste In New York
Fall is the time when many people return to their regular routines, but this does not necessarily mean locking oneself in the gym or exercise studio. Yogis in New York will have the opportunity to practice sun salutations and enjoy a menu designed by a celebrity chef on a boat cruise this Sunday, and then stretch out and sip delicious cocktails on a Midtown rooftop on Monday.
Chopped Champion Eric LeVine has created a new menu designed for Spirit Cruises, and you can sample it this Sunday, September 28, after practicing some boat-side yoga. For the first time, Spirit Cruises is offering a special Yoga on the Water Cruise from 12 to 2 p.m., featuring an hour of vinyasa yoga followed by an uber-healthy lunch for $49.90. LeVine's menu will include a Spirit Salad made with cranberries, chili almonds, and apples; Asian-style short ribs; pan-seared chicken served over herb polenta; and baked tilapia over tomato orzo.
"We changed a typical buffet-style menu to include items that are prepared fresh daily and presented in a fun and contemporary way," said the chef. "After heightening the senses in a yoga class, diners will enjoy these menu items that each have a burst of energy and flavor." LeVine also wanted to make the food more visually appealing, so he chose unique serving vessels (his pun, not ours) like single-serving Chinese take-out boxes.
On Monday, September 29, Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur is bringing the brand's lifestyle event series, "Drink~Play~Love," to the Big Apple. Held from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Ava Rooftop at The Dream in Midtown, the event will consist of a complimentary sunset yoga class followed by Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur cocktails. Reservations are free, and are awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
So, although summer has officially come to an end, there seems to be a number of delicious opportunities to get fit and relieve stress here in New York City.
