Couple Refuses To Pay Outback Steakhouse For Subpar Meal

Two weeks ago, a family made a statement by refusing to pay an automatic tip due to bad service, and got locked in the restaurant for their actions.

This week, an elderly couple is going to court for similarly stalwart actions.

CBS reports that a couple in their early 70s are refusing to pay the bill for dinner at Outback Steakhouse, claiming that the food made them sick and the manager promised to take care of it.

"He said, 'I'll take care of everything.' And I said, 'Well, I really appreciate it,'" William Luebke told CBS.

Turns out, the manager claims he only offered them a discount, and called the police. The couple now faces a misdemeanor charge for theft; they refuse to pay the bill due to bad service and bad food, they say.
