Wacky Recipe Wednesday Week No. 7
Welcome to the seventh week of The Daily Meal's Wacky Wednesday recipe roundup, a series where we reach out to our talented Culinary Content Network of food bloggers and request their strangest, weirdest, and most interesting recipes — creations so "wacky" they make you pause and ask, "Wait...what are you making?"
"Wacky" could mean a strange flavor pairing or interesting cooking method, or it could mean a dish has an absurd presentation or ridiculous background story. No one really knows what craziness Wacky Wednesday will rake in, but I can tell you this: We are definitely having some fun with it.
Check out this week's wackiest recipes:
Plantain Pancetta and Pesto Panini
Mid-Life Croissant "geeky love" for alliteration inspired this recipe. She writes, "So I thought it sounded great and wouldn't it be fantastic if it tasted great, too? But I honestly expected it to taste weird and potentially gross. I've never been happier to be wrong." Click here for this wacky recipe.
The "Eyeew!" Pudding aka Banana and Coffee Pudding
"EWWWW" was the reaction Chillies and Lime blogger got when she present this dessert to her family—they wouldn't even touch it, it looked so gross! "Yes, I know it looks a little unappetizing," she says. "But sometimes what looks horrible can surprisingly taste delicious (so don't go pulling faces and saying 'yuck' at food without even tasting it). Find the recipe here.
Potato Chip Cookies
Potato chips are the not-so-secret ingredient in this weird cookie recipe: the batter is studded with crunchy savory potato chips and the salty quality really makes these cookies divine and irresistible.
