How To Make Potato Casserole

The best part about potatoes is that they can be made into a variety of different dishes. From potato salad to potato gratin, the beloved spud is so versatile. If you can't decide between whipping up some mashed potatoes or a classic potato casserole, why not make both? Loaded mashed potato casserole makes a great weeknight dinner or a satisfying side dish for a hearty holiday meal.

Wing Recipes Perfect for Football Season

Made in under an hour, the loaded potato casserole is topped with perfectly cooked bacon and ooey, gooey melted cheese. It's also a great dish to have your kids help out with. Let them sprinkle the bacon and cheddar cheese on top of the potato mixture.

To make the dish, start by preheating your oven — not working with warm appliances is a mistake often made by home cooks. Then place all of the ingredients into a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until the potatoes are creamy.

Once the mashed potatoes are ready, spoon the mixture into a baking dish and top with cheese and bacon. It's a great comfort dish to make ahead and freeze for later. If you're looking for more inspiration, here are plenty more incredible potato recipes.
