Chicken Soup For The Soul Now Making Chicken Soup

The Chicken Soup for the Soul book series featuring inspirational, funny, and heart-wrenching stories from "people just like you," is finally going to be making soup. For fans who ate up the series in the late '90s and early '00s, which includes six original book compilations such as Chicken Soup for the Kids' Soul and Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul, among others, it's about time.

The company will be putting out a line of soups, sauces, gravies and "meal builders" (i.e. sloppy Joe starters), that include chicken tortilla, beef barley, lentil, and of course, chicken noodle soup all created by Waldorf Astoria executive chef John Doherty.

"For years, our readers and all our other fans have asked us to launch a food line, so this was a natural progression for us," said Chicken Soup for the Soul Chairman and CEO, Bill Rouhana in a statement. "Our new food line captures the warmth and comfort of eating a meal that is not only made from the highest quality ingredients, but also served with love."

Other products include marinara sauce, vodka sauce, and rustic tomato with bacon sauce; as well as beef, chicken and turkey gravy; and a line of cooking broths. The company also announced that they will be putting out snacks, barbeque sauces, and soup toppers by the end of the year. For now, you can only buy real Chicken Soup for the Soul at select stores including Stop and Shop and Food City.
