Chef Damaris Phillips Is Truly 'Southern At Heart'
One would think that Damaris Phillips's life as a small-town Kentucky girl would be long-gone after winning the ninth season of Next Food Network Star and hosting her own show Southern at Heart. But in fact, it is the exact opposite. Now entering her third season of the show, which airs on October 26th, Phillips promises a season that really comes from her heart.
"I always talk about cooking for the people you love," Phillips preaches "and now you're all finally going to meet all the people I love!"
While at Trisha Yearwood's Down Home Country Brunch at the New York City Wine and Food Festival, she shares that her parents, siblings, best friends, grandfather, and her "sweet prince of a man," will all make appearances on her show, so fans of Phillips are in for a personal treat. Phillips also revealed that she is in the early stages of pulling a cookbook together, and is excited about her upcoming appearance on Cutthroat Kitchen on Wednesday, October 21st.
"That is an intense show," she laughs. "You really never know what is going to happen."
One thing that the future definitely holds for Phillips is her upcoming nuptials.
"We're thinking either May or September for our wedding," she said about her upcoming big day. "We do know that it is going to be in Kentucky and in a park."
You may be able to take the girl out of the small town, but you definitely can't take the small town love out of the girl!
