Carla Hall To Develop Classic Southern Restaurant In DCA
Chef and Washington, DC native Carla Hall has partnered with OTG, an airport concessions company, to develop a restaurant concept for Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) that will feature Hall's signature southern comfort foods. Chef Hall is a two-time finalist on Bravo's Top Chef, and currently co-hosts The Chew on ABC.
Although she has no immediate plans to open a restaurant, Hall sees the restaurant, named Page, as an opportunity to test the waters for a place of her own. In addition to a fresh seafood bar, visitors to Page will have the chance to try hearty classics like pot pies made with local produce, deviled eggs, and crab cakes.
"The menu isn't finalized, but it's based on things I love to eat and grew up eating," Hall told us.
When Page opens in the spring of 2015, it will be located in DCA's Terminal A and will feature an innovative rotunda design inspired by the Capitol Building and an open kitchen that places the restaurant at the heart of the terminal.
Fellow DC chefs Ruth Gresser of Pizzeria Paradiso and Jeff Tunks of Burger Tap & Shake are also involved in collaborations with DCA and will be developing eateries of their own.
