Carl's Jr. Going National With Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwiches
Carls Jr. is rolling out their Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwich nationally starting Thursday, according to Huffington Post.
The sandwiches have vanilla ice cream in between a halved strawberry Pop-Tart and cost about $1.49 plus tax. "The idea of it just seemed to capture people's imaginations and it's one of those things that just brings a smile to everyone's face when they hear about it," Carl's Jr. chief marketing officer, Brad Haley, told the site. It certainly captures our imaginations, answering some strange but delicious childhood dreams.
They were tested in March and April at Orange County, Calif. locations and popular feedback gave Carl's executives the incentive to go ahead and bring it to menus nationally, according to a press release. "Anything that gets attention can take business away from the other guy," said Andy Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants.
For a short time, Huff Post said Carl's is giving away the tasty treat for free with a Super Bacon Cheeseburger combo, so get it free of charge while you can.
