Buffalo Wild Wings To Open First Location Overseas
American sports restaurant Buffalo Wild Wings is headed to the Middle East and Puerto Rico. With 835 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, this is the first overseas expansion for the company, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2012.
Buffalo Wild Wings has signed an agreement to open 22 locations in the Middle East, including in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and four additional Middle Eastern countries over the next six years. The company has also signed an agreement to open four locations in Puerto Rico by the end of 2016. The first restaurants are expected to open in 2013.
While the restaurant will still serve its signature Buffalo, New York-style chicken wings served with 20 sauces and seasonings and offer sports broadcasts on its televisions, the company expects that in the Middle East, soccer and horse racing may replace some of the sports seen on screens in North American Buffalo Wild Wings locations. The Buffalo Wild Wings menu will be adapted to local tastes with a range of non-alcoholic drinks, juices, sparkling waters and coffees served at locations where alcohol cannot be served.
In addition to the Middle East and Puerto Rico locations, Buffalo Wild Wings continues to explore opportunities in markets across the world.
