'Breastaurant' Owner Buys Texas Town, Renames It 'Bikini'
So, this happened: Somebody (a certain bar/restaurant owner named Doug Guller) randomly bought an abandoned railroad town on Craigslist, and promptly renamed it Bikini, Texas.
Guller, who founded Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill (along with The Parish, Beale Street Tavern) announced that he bought what was formerly Bankersmith, Texas, and plans to turn it into a party town.
"Bikinis, Texas, will be a world-class destination, and I am thrilled to expand the Bikinis brand to include town ownership," Guller told Culturemap Austin. "There could not be a better way to put Bikinis on the map... literally."
Currently, the town has "a lot of trees and hills and that's about it," Culturemap reported. HuffPo reports that between 1949 and 1961, the population hovered around the 20-person mark, and we doubt it has gone up since then. But soon, Bikini, Texas, will be filled with bikini-clad baristas, wet T-shirt contests, and everything reminiscent of Spring Breaks gone wrong. Hooters better step up their game.
