If you're not familiar with Reverchon Park, then you may not have noticed how large it is just from a passing glance. This 46-acre urban oasis offers everything from baseball fields and tennis courts to a covered kids playground and a recreation center. The park may have had a sordid past, but recently it's been enjoying a revival and has become one of the city's most popular parks for family outings and community events. Those itching to catch a pick-up game of hoops should have no problem finding one at any of the park's four basketball courts where there's always plenty of action going on day and night.

Right in the heart of downtown McKinney sits this gorgeous 32-acre tree-lined park that offers plenty of activities for the entire family. The park boosts sand volleyball and tennis courts, as well as a splash pad and playground for the little ones. And the two large basketball courts makes this park the perfect go-to-spot in town to practice a few free throws.

This sprawling 50-acre haven comes complete with a fishing pond, an aquatic center, baseball fields, playgrounds and a 1.5-mile trail system. And for those looking to shoot some hoops, the two lighted basketball courts located in the center of the park make an ideal place to get a game going whether it's 6 a.m. in the morning or before 10 p.m. when the park closes.

Katherine Rose Memorial Park is one of Mansfield's most beautiful hidden gems— filled with walking trails, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, a fishing dock, a playground and plenty of picnic pavilions with BBQ grills. If you want to bring your A game on here, you'll find four half-sized basketball courts that light up at night, which is an optimal time to play if you want to avoid the Texas heat.

Nestled amongst rose gardens and a meandering creek, this 24-acre park offers an awesome backdrop for any outdoor activity. As far as basketball goes, you can't beat the park's six lighted half-sized courts for playing a game or just practicing some shots on your own. Other amenities include biking trails, sand volleyball and tennis courts, as well as horseshoe pits and a playground.

This massive outdoor sports complex, operated by First Baptist Church of Carrollton, features an amazing array of family-friendly activities and amenities. Practically every sport is covered here, including soccer, lacrosse, sand volleyball, flag football and baseball. The facility houses two regulation-size basketball courts with adjustable goals as well. Additionally, there's a great basketball program offered for kids during the fall and winter. Pick-up games are ongoing through the summer or you can rent the courts for $20 an hour.
