The leading lady of Amicalola Falls State Campground is Amicalola Falls. With a waterfall of 729 feet, it is the highest in the eastern U.S. The falls are considered the gateway to the southern end of the Applalachian Trail. If you want to hike up to the falls, there is a reward for those who've made it five miles by foot – the Hiker's Lodge!
