Restaurant's Anatomically Correct Sign Bothers Residents In Utah
Residents of Hurricane, Utah, got a bit of a surprise recently when a local restaurant unveiled a new sign featuring a big copper bull that was anatomically correct and very generously endowed.
According to St. George News, Barista's Restaurant and its shiny new sign are located across from Hurricane High School, where students were no doubt tickled by the sight of the big sign that is now enraging the adults of Hurricane.
"It looks terrible," local resident Denise Mackelprang said to St. George News. "I could see the bull, but not the details of the sex. It's R-rated to me, especially with young school kids seeing it and talking about it."
The bull on the sign is not particularly anatomically correct, either. The bull's genitals are significantly larger than normal, shaped like a cone, and with something that looks like a tassel on the end. It looks sort of like an upside-down party hat.
Owner Stephen Ward maintains that the bull's endowments are not the problem and said he thought residents just have a problem with him personally.
"If I put Pinocchio up there, its nose would be too big," Ward said. "It's me. It's me. It's not the bull. It's not the restaurant. They don't like me."
Some Hurricane residents started a petition to convince the city council to refuse the business license renewal for Barista's on the grounds that the bull is inappropriate and reflects poorly on the community. So far nearly 550 people have signed the petition.
