Experience
With an immense love for both writing and food, it is a dream come true for Melissa to be on the Mashed features team. She has been writing professionally since 2020 and has published articles on topics ranging from health, fitness, beauty, recipes, and women's health for various publications. A wearer of many hats, she is a certified nutrition and wellness coach as well as a published author. Her first children's book landed on the Barnes & Noble best-seller list in its first week.
Education
Melissa has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theatre from Coastal Carolina University. Her favorite class that she took during her time at the university happened to be an elective – Creative Writing. This class inspired her to continue writing while also pursuing her musical theatre career. She also holds a certification in nutrition and wellness from the American Fitness Professional Association.
